www.MiFID.ie: Ireland's only MiFID dedicated website.
As at 31 January 2010 this site has been visited 74,673 times (1,905,167 hits) since launch (May 2006). Quite impressive given the very specific nature of this site's topic and the fact that we concentrate on MiFID in Ireland. However this should not be surprising given that Ireland is at the forefront of innovative financial services (governed by MiFID) and is fast becoming the first choice for financial and insurance firms wishing to do business across Europe. We are always looking for visitors to contribute meaningful and well researched articles - so please contact us at email@mifid.ie if you would like to be published. If you wish to reach a high level of audience with details of your MiFID related products or service then click here.

In addition, where a specific legal opinion or advice is required, we can assist clients obtain legal advice and documentation from a number of leading Irish and international firms. The advantage to our clients is that as we know their operational procedures and platforms, we can ensure that proper and correct instructions are provided to law firms so that the most appropriate and correct advice is received. The advantage to our clients is that they save considerable costs in explaining their business models to lawyers who, although highly qualified, may not necessarily have our operational expertise. We can offer this assistance as one of the directors of Compliance Ireland (Peter Oakes) worked a solicitor in Ireland, the UK and Australia and is therefore familiar with the workings of the legal profession. Furthermore, another director (Kevin O’Doherty) is a Chartered Accountant and served as the managing director of a substantial IFSC financial services business and is conversant with dealing with lawyers in obtaining legal advice and opinions.
